There was a time when kids who were tormented by bullies on the school playground could return to the safety of their family home at the end of the day. These days though, with the increased use of technology, our children are at risk more than ever before.
These days, the bullies can come right into your home and continue to torment and harass your children right in their bedrooms. With the technology available today, bullies can send threatening or demeaning messages directly to your child’s cell phone or post them on popular social networking sites.
The anonymity of the Internet, and the thought that they won’t get caught, make it easy for bullies to say and do hateful things online. Bullies can do any number of things to “virtually” attack your child. They can send hateful messages to their email or Instant Messaging account, to creating online posts on social networking sites to embarrass your child in front of many people or posting embarrassing photos online.
